Gateway Courses A Gateway Course is a course,usually adminstered by a trade body,which is used to provide a "gateway" or entrance into a job. The example shown here is a pdf handbook which provides an entrance into the Coatings Industry,administered by the Coatings Federation, and as you will see is IOSH approved. This approach may be of interest with CoT as the "gatekeeper"......? This handbook can be used standalone or  with the online Swanmultimedia Course demonstrated elsewhere. Regulations,Laws etc.     I have a licence to use Crown Copyright materials.   Under this licence most public documents may be accessed and used. This includes documents produced by Government,Local Authorities and public bodies such as Commissions and Agencies. Thus modified public documents can be sold on provided they are  presented in a different format., and that sense and content is not altered.e.g.the attached is The Children Act in eBook format . An eBook enables the user to speedily search and print out a copy or have the system read the Act to them using the text to speech facility of the eBook. In addition on;line,self marking and recording tests can be inserted within the ebook to ensure a record of reading and understanding of procedures etc. It also allows commenting by experts to disseminate ideas,approaches or good practice. Hazard Areas File This is an aide memoire for a school wishing to carry out a Hazard Identification.It contains a review of the main areas and comments on addressing a Risk Assessment,including identifying what an inspector may be looking for. Useful Links and Reviews A wide range of H&S links relevant to schools with descriptions and comments and reviews of curriculum materials. Safety Legislation File A review with comments on the main items of the legal base as it affects H&S in schools. H&S FAQs This a set of some 30/40 FAQs referring to H&S in schools which address many of the operational questions raised in running a school. A series of about 100 school related articles also exists which could also be put online in a searchable format. Risk Assessment Forms Downloadable Risk Assessment Forms with completed examples and templates. A full suite is available of some 60 RA Templates covering almost every eventuality.
